What does the free checker do?
It reads one CSV or Excel worksheet, suggests likely SKU and price columns, and highlights basic catalogue problems. It preserves text identifiers while reading the file and shows a preview so you can compare the result with your source.
Is this a complete Shopify CSV validator?
No. It checks supplier file structure, not every Shopify field, product grouping rule or store configuration. A clean report does not guarantee a successful import. Read our CSV template guide and test a small draft import before uploading your full catalogue.
Can I check an Excel workbook?
Yes, if it is an .xlsx file containing one worksheet, no formulas, and up to 500 data rows and 2 MB. For multiple worksheets, copy the relevant data into a new workbook first. The checker does not modify your original file.
